Phototherapy is a treatment with special type of light (wavelength range 420 to 480nm) which lower bilirubin level in neonatal, the process is called photo-oxidation in which light wave converts the bilirubin to water soluble non-toxic form, make it easier for baby’s liver to break down and remove the bilirubin from their blood.
