A High Voltage Half Bridge Gate Driver is an electronic device used to drive power switching devices such as IGBTs (Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistors) or MOSFETs (Metal Oxide Semiconductor Field Effect Transistors) in a high voltage Half Bridge topology. The half-bridge topology consists of two power switching devices, one high-side switch and one low-side switch, and is used in applications such as DC to AC power conversion, motor control, and inverters. Due to the need to handle higher voltages and currents in high-voltage applications, the drive requirements for power switching devices have increased accordingly. High-voltage half-bridge gate drivers are designed to provide effective control signals to ensure that the high-side and low-side switching devices switch within the proper time for efficient, high-performance energy conversion.
A gate driver is a buffer circuit used to amplify low voltage or low current from a microcontroller or other source. The High Voltage Half Bridge Gate Driver is designed to drive power transistors stacked together in a half bridge configuration.
