1,5-Dihydroxynaphthalene (CAS: 83-56-7) is an important intermediate with a molecular formula of C10H8O2, a molecular weight of 160.17, and an appearance of gray to brown powder. 1,5-Dihydroxynaphthalene is irritating, hardly soluble in water, insoluble in benzene and petroleum ether, slightly soluble in alcohol and acetic acid, soluble in ether and acetone. 1,5-Dihydroxynaphthalene is an important dye intermediate, mainly used in the production of acid mordant black PV, developed along with the development of acid mordant dyes, and can also be used in the production of other dyes, medicines and resins.
