The extracorporeal life support system (ECSL) is a special auxiliary means of life support based on the extracorporeal circulation system and using extracorporeal circulation technology. Its main purpose is to pump blood into the extracorporeal membrane lung device for sufficient blood oxygenation and removal of carbon dioxide to ensure effective blood supply to the whole body. When heart failure occurs, the artificial heart can replace the heart function and pump the oxygenated blood into the body's peripheral arteries to allow the heart and lungs to rest, creating opportunities for the rescue of critically ill patients with cardiopulmonary failure, the resuscitation of cardiopulmonary function, and the treatment of primary diseases. The blood pump provides blood circulation and plays the role of the heart. It is also called an artificial heart and is the core part of the ECLS/ECMO system. At present, the domestic market is completely dependent on imports. All existing blood pumps in China use permanent magnetic transmission and mechanical bearings. They generate a lot of heat when running for a long time, and have a high probability of destroying blood cells and forming coagulation thrombi. There is blood stasis at the bottom, and there is a risk of thrombosis when running for a long time. The magnetic levitation blood pump uses integrated suspension drive technology to replace traditional mechanical bearings. Its characteristics of no mechanical friction, low shear force, no pulsation, and ultra-cleanliness improve the survival of blood cells and avoid abnormal risks such as hemolysis and thrombosis during transportation. It has become a key component of the extracorporeal circulation life-support system.

At present, LVAD has gone through three rounds of iterations. The third-generation centrifugal pump technology (magnetic fluid suspension, magnetic levitation, etc.) is more excellent in performance. Since the withdrawal of Medtronic HVAD (using magnetic fluid suspension technology), full magnetic levitation (represented by Abbott HeartMate 3) has become mainstream in the United States. Clinical data show that the survival rate of full magnetic levitation LVAD is comparable to that of patients after heart transplantation, and it is expected to become the most ideal treatment method besides heart transplantation.

The extracorporeal life support system (ECSL) is a special auxiliary means of life support based on the extracorporeal circulation system and using extracorporeal circulation technology. Its main purpose is to pump blood into the extracorporeal membrane lung device for sufficient blood oxygenation and removal of carbon dioxide to ensure effective blood supply to the whole body. When heart failure occurs, the artificial heart can replace the heart function and pump the oxygenated blood into the body's peripheral arteries to allow the heart and lungs to rest, creating opportunities for the rescue of critically ill patients with cardiopulmonary failure, the resuscitation of cardiopulmonary function, and the treatment of primary diseases. The blood pump provides blood circulation and plays the role of the heart. It is also called an artificial heart and is the core part of the ECLS/ECMO system. At present, the domestic market is completely dependent on imports. All existing blood pumps in China use permanent magnetic transmission and mechanical bearings. They generate a lot of heat when running for a long time, and have a high probability of destroying blood cells and forming coagulation thrombi. There is blood stasis at the bottom, and there is a risk of thrombosis when running for a long time. The magnetic levitation blood pump uses integrated suspension drive technology to replace traditional mechanical bearings. Its characteristics of no mechanical friction, low shear force, no pulsation, and ultra-cleanliness improve the survival of blood cells and avoid abnormal risks such as hemolysis and thrombosis during transportation. It has become a key component of the extracorporeal circulation life-support system.
