Green methanol is a clean energy source that utilizes renewable energy sources such as solar and wind energy to decompose water into green hydrogen, which is then synthesized by adding carbon dioxide to green hydrogen under the catalytic action. According to a research report by the Global Methanol Association, renewable hydrogen refers to the use of renewable energy to produce hydrogen, while renewable carbon dioxide refers to carbon dioxide from biomass sources or direct air capture of carbon dioxide.
