Liquid polybutadiene, also known as low molecular polybutadiene, is a low molecular weight polybutadiene and is a liquid rubber without functional groups, referred to as LPB.
Liquid rubber generally refers to a class of oligomers with relative molecular weight of about 2000~10000, viscous liquid at room temperature, and further chemical cross-linking reaction can occur under certain conditions. Liquid rubber has many varieties and a wide range of uses. It is mainly used as a modifier in the rubber and adhesive industry to play the role of plasticizing and viscosity increasing. Liquid rubber used in the rubber products and adhesives industry is mainly liquid polybutadiene rubber, liquid nitrile rubber and liquid isoprene rubber.
Liquid polybutadiene rubber has the advantages of very low glass transition temperature, excellent hydrolysis resistance and electrical insulation, etc. Generally, it has non-functionalized and modified structure, and common modification methods such as maleic anhydride grafting and hydroxyl blocking. Polybutadiene liquid rubbers with different chemical structures are widely used in structural adhesives, electronics and automotive sealants.
