Isosorbide is a bicyclic diol derived from renewable resources and is obtained by chemical conversion of glucose. Isosorbide-based polymers have excellent heat resistance, mechanical properties and biodegradability, and are widely used in bio-based plastics, coatings, adhesives and packaging materials. Because of its renewable and environmentally friendly source, it has attracted much attention in the field of green chemistry and sustainable materials.
