The electric bus lithium battery is a power source for electric buses (electric buses) using lithium-ion battery technology. This type of battery is a rechargeable battery that is primarily used to store energy to power the electric motor of an electric bus.

The global electric bus ownership has reached 650,000, of which mainland China is the largest electric bus market, followed by Europe and India. In 2023, the global electric bus sales will be about 50,000. With the promotion of electric buses in mainland China, Europe, India and the United States, the global electric bus sales will grow year by year. In 2023, the sales of electric buses in mainland China will be nearly 40,000, and the main car manufacturers include Yutong Bus, BYD and CRRC Electric. In 2023, the top three European electric bus sales are the United Kingdom, Germany and Norway. Among them, the sales in the United Kingdom exceeded 1,000 for the first time, while the sales in Spain, Italy and Portugal increased significantly. In order to accelerate the progress of heavy-duty vehicle carbon reduction, the European Council proposed in February 2023 to amend the heavy-duty vehicle (HDV) CO2 emission standard regulations (No. 2019/1242), and the European Parliament passed it in May 2024, which will stipulate that all newly sold urban buses must be zero-emission vehicles from 2035. In 2023, the sales market share of electric buses in India will reach 11-13%, and the goal is to reach 40% by 2030. The Indian government has formulated comprehensive policies and goals to promote the popularization of electric buses across the country. The main policies include the Hybrid and All Electric Vehicle Manufacturing Subsidy Program (FAME) and have made progress, but there are still financing challenges, charging infrastructure issues, dependence on diesel buses, insufficient public transportation systems, and cost differences to overcome.
