Description

Triphthalic anhydride, scientific name 1,2,4-benzetricarboxylic anhydride, also known as metaanhydride. The molecular formula is: C9H4O5 . The appearance is white flake, melting point, 164-166 °C. Boiling point 240-245 °C, soluble in hot water and acetone, 2-J ketone, dimethylformamide, ethyl acetate, cyclohexanone. Soluble in absolute ethanol and reaction, slightly soluble in carbon tetrachloride, toluene. Triphthalic anhydride is an important chemical raw material for modern new materials, an important intermediate modified and added to fine chemical products, and is often widely used in environmentally friendly plasticizers, high-end powder coatings, advanced insulating materials (enamells) and high-temperature curing agents.
