Description

There are many braking methods for rail vehicles, mainly divided into adhesive braking and non-adhesive braking.

Non-adhesive braking methods mainly include disc eddy current braking, orbital eddy current braking and Electro-Mechanical Brake, which is an auxiliary braking method when multiple braking methods are used together. The braking force of non-adhesive braking is not limited by the adhesion between the wheel and rail. When braking, the braking force does not pass through the rolling contact point (stick point) of the wheel with the rail.

In eddy-current brakes, braking is achieved without relying on friction at all. These brakes are the ideal complement to pneumatic friction brakes, especially on high-speed trains.

A Train Electro-Mechanical Brake refers to magnetic track brake (Mg brake), is a brake for rail vehicles.

It consists of brake magnets, pole shoes, a suspension, a power transmission and, in the case of mainline railroads, a track rod. When current flows through the magnet coil, the magnet is attracted to the rail, which presses the pole shoes against the rail, thereby decelerating the vehicle.

There are many braking methods for rail vehicles, mainly divided into adhesive braking and non-adhesive braking.

Non-adhesive braking methods mainly include disc eddy current braking, orbital eddy current braking and Electro-Mechanical Brake, which is an auxiliary braking method when multiple braking methods are used together. The braking force of non-adhesive braking is not limited by the adhesion between the wheel and rail. When braking, the braking force does not pass through the rolling contact point (stick point) of the wheel with the rail.

In eddy-current brakes, braking is achieved without relying on friction at all. These brakes are the ideal complement to pneumatic friction brakes, especially on high-speed trains.

It consists of brake magnets, pole shoes, a suspension, a power transmission and, in the case of mainline railroads, a track rod. When current flows through the magnet coil, the magnet is attracted to the rail, which presses the pole shoes against the rail, thereby decelerating the vehicle.
