It has become the preferred alternative fuel for new shipbuilding of shipping companies, and methanol fuel-powered ships have become a new battlefield for the competition between China and South Korea's shipbuilding industry.
Methanol-powered ships fueled by methanol are suitable for the commercial shipping industry and can meet or exceed current and planned emissions regulations. Methanol is a safe, proven and cost-competitive marine fuel that is more environmentally friendly than conventional marine fuel.
